Getting Started

After downloading ReelBreaker from the Mac App Store:

1. Open Safari
2. Go to Safari → Settings (or press ⌘,)
3. Click the Extensions tab
4. Check the box next to ReelBreaker to enable it
5. Click the extension icon in your Safari toolbar to manage blocking

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I temporarily unblock videos?

Click the ReelBreaker icon in your Safari toolbar, then click "Unblock for 5 minutes". A countdown timer will show the remaining time. Videos will automatically be blocked again when the timer expires.

How do I add a custom website to block?

Click the ReelBreaker icon, then click "Manage blocked sites". In the settings page, enter the domain (e.g., youtube.com) and click Add. Safari will ask you to grant permission for that site.

Why can't I remove some sites from the block list?

The core social media sites (Facebook, Instagram, X/Twitter, Reddit) are locked by default. These are the sites where video feeds are most distracting. You can temporarily unblock them but cannot remove them from the list.

The extension isn't blocking videos on a site

Make sure the site is in your blocked list and that you haven't temporarily unblocked it. Some sites may use video players that aren't detected—please contact us with the site URL so we can add support.

I don't see the extension icon in Safari

Right-click on the Safari toolbar and select "Customize Toolbar". Drag the ReelBreaker icon to your toolbar.
